For the locals, it is tradition and a piece of themselves, for those who visit, the highest cultural experience in Portugal. Fado, declared by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is a must do, a musical experience that surpasses barriers, in which language does not matter when rhythm, melody and feeling speak louder.
At La Portuguese Porto Market you can find a Fado experience quite different from what is offered in the city. In this Portuguese House, Fado is sung throughout the afternoon, wearing a shawl on her back, in an intimate and cheerful experience that promises not to leave anyone indifferent. He began his studies in music at age 11, at the Academy of Music in Matosinhos.
At 13, he became interested in Fado, with Mário Henriques learning, among amateurs, to accompany various fados on the guitar. It didn't take him long to fall in love with the Portuguese guitar: he learned the first chords with Francisco Seabra, an amateur guitarist, and six months later he was already participating in small Fado shows.
In the years that followed, he developed, through a self-taught process, his knowledge of the Portuguese guitar. In 1991, he was invited to join the cast of the fado house A Taverna de S. Jorge and, a year later, he began to work at the typical restaurant O Fado, where he remained for four years. During this period he was also part of the Quadrifonia group, responsible for a fusion of classical music with Portuguese popular music.

During his university career he collaborated with the Grupo de Fados de Engenharia of the University of Porto, with whom he developed his knowledge of Coimbra Fado. For the Grupo de Fados e Baladas de Coimbra, with whom he also worked, he composed several arrangements for traditional fados.
In 1996 he left the fado houses, dedicating himself exclusively to shows, on national soil and abroad.
In 2001 he was invited by the Porto 2001 organization for a concert at the S. Bento da Vitória Monastery, in which he had the opportunity to perform with some of the best Fado artists, such as Hélder Moutinho, Beatriz da Conceição, Camané and Mafalda Arnauth .
Currently, in addition to his activity as a civil engineer, he is dedicated to shows, either as an accompanist or as a soloist, and runs his own recording studio.

"Fado to Home" aims to respond to those who want to include a quality musical moment in an event.
Performances can be made during a Dinner, Wedding, Cocktail or other special occasion, in private homes, or other spaces where the event takes place.

Through direct contact with musicians, this model strengthens the relationship between the client and the musicians, enabling greater flexibility and adaptation to the event in question.

This show can be customizable (made to order) with 1 or more fadistas and always with the quality stamp of La Portuguese.
